“When Priorities Shift”

There comes an age we most will reach, when we realize our priorities.
What we may have valued in younger days,
seems trivial, from youth inspired ways.

Maturity takes hold of thoughts,
(we wish it had done so years before,)
and teaches lessons to the ones,
who already have learned by experience.

We often spend the final years,
mending wounds and repairing tears.
If learned early, it is a gift,
if not, we learn it, when priorities shift.
